Oak Dining chair 50’s in red/brown wood, by Olsen
Characteristic oak Danish 1950s dining chair in very good condition with very nice patina. In 1938, Arne Hovmand-Olsen finished his apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker at P. Olsen Sibast. As he did not only want to build furniture, but design it, her enrolled at a technical school in Aarhus. After his graduation, Hovmand-Olsen opened his own studio and designed furniture for several Danish furniture makers. His works are often characterized by simplicity and delicacy.
Another Hovmand chair is listed as well, but this chair is made of a lighter oak wood and lost some of its lacquer
Both are beautiful with some traces of wear. Priced per piece.
