Magdeburg 27-10-1928 / 14-09-2013  A designer, architect, painter, sculptor, graphic artist, clothing and furniture designer, the late Stefan Wewerka made art objects that were anti-function, anti-tradition and anti-art. Each of his object/sculptures is brought to life by his playful experiments with proportion, geometry and asymmetry. Distorting the form of everyday objects, Wewerka not only made some fantastically irreverent furniture/sculptures, he also cleverly challenged assumptions about the ubiquitous objects that surround us.
