Aalto Alvar

Aalto, Alvar

Alvar Aalto, in full Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto (Kuortane, February 3, 1898 – Helsinki, May 11, 1976), was a Finnish modernist architect. He also became known for his furniture and glassware designs. Aalto was one of the first and most influential architects of the modern movement in Scandinavia. He was a member of CIAM (Congrès Internationaux d’Architecture Moderne). Major works by Aalto include Finlandia Hall in Helsinki, the City Hall in Säynätsalo, and the campus of the Helsinki University of Technology. The Aalto Vase (1936, see image below), which evokes the contours of a Finnish lake, is also world-famous. Most of his buildings are located throughout Finland, but several of his designs have also been realized in Germany and the United States.

BeBoB was founded with a focus on recycling and started as a foundation, not profit-based.
For almost 40 years, it has specialised in collecting and selling midcentury design, focussing on the right matches more than how to get the best profit.
BeBoB charges reasonable prices for vintage and collector’s items.

Vintage Prices are approximately 35% to 65% of the new-to-order price, if items are still new in production. If not anymore in production they become collectibles.
Collectibles are also the original pieces from the design period of the items, which are still in production and are more expensive, but often a good investment out of scarcity.
