Geoffrey Harcourt (*1935) Great Brittain Harcourt spent his formative years at the technical school in High Wycombe and studied at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1962 he joined the Artifort Design Group. He works from his studio in Benson, Oxfordshire. Concentrating on the contract field which Artifort, Harcourt had not at that time exploited greatly, went on to produce very many fine ranges of furniture, including some of the first multiple seating systems ever produced.

His excellent designs from the seventies contributed to furniture for public spaces, waiting halls, airports etc. and in the eighties he designed office and conference chairs . His contribution was finally recognised b y the design establishment in England, by the award of the coveted “Royal Design for Industry” accolade in 1978.
